Aftermath

The George Floyd trial has been in process for the past two weeks. Today, April 19, 2021, are closing arguments: Eric Nelson defending Derrek Chauvin, and Jerry Blackwell prosecuting attorney for the state of Minnesota.

Outside the courthouse, there is a mass of individuals congregating in support of George Floyd.

The “Black Lives Matter” movement was created by Alicia Garza, Patrisse Cullors, and Opal Tometi. The organization was created to oppose systematic racism.

The incident with George Floyd catapulted the “Black Lives Matter” movement to a global status.

This is a very important trial and could possibly invoke laws that change how police are trained and revisit prone training.

The jurors have heard closing arguments from both the prosecution and defense attorneys. Judge Peter Cahill has now sequestered the jury for deliberation and the jury was given detailed instructions on deliberating solely on evidence.

The wheels of justice move slowly. I do not know when the jury will return with a verdict.

I do know if the jury returns with a not guilty verdict this “country” will explode and civil unrest will occur in all 50 states.

Violence, riots, and pillaging will immediately break out. Black Americans will protest the decision, and rightly so.

When you visibly see and hear the outrageous behavior of Chauvin, you will see why the jury must come back with one verdict “guilty” as charged: murder and manslaughter.

Supporters of Floyd are protesting in front of the courthouse right now!

Let’s see what happens tomorrow.

Stay tuned and stay involved.
